I was contemplating getting another lasius niger colony or possible going for a myrmica rubra because its a little different but quite similar to lasius niger.
Correct me if that above statement was inaccurate.
Being it approaching winter, would it be wise to buy another colony now or should I just wait for the spring season to kick in so I can get more activity out of the ants.
Otherwise I am buying a colony that will go straight into hibernation.
Also on a side note I have a colony of 1 queen and 10 workers with several larvae, should I put these into hibernation even though I have only had these for about a month?
Thanks

Hmm, I've never had any colonies that do hibernation myself (don't think they are common where I am), so I can't help you, Spectrum. I'm sure some others will have some great experience they could pass on though.
