i had 3 l.Niger queens together from beginning of this year and they have about 30 workers and a ton of eggs/brood. but today i noticed one queen was remembered (which i was waiting to happen at some point) and another queen running around the out world alone. i managed to catch her and test tube her separately but the queen left with the workers/brood, the one the ants chose at their queen is missing half a front leg. she stumbles about quite a bit and seems fine except that. the workers have interacted with her and she tends to her eggs. Will she be ok? can queens recover from injuries like these? the colony has done so well would hate for it to fall apart now. if the queen dies, is there a way i could re-introduce the other queen back into the colony? thanks for reading guys. quite worried about it atm. Hi ANTattack She'll be fine; I've had queens with missing limbs before. Fortunately queens generally don't travel far so it doesn't really affect them.
