Here's a question, I've had a queen i found recently in a test tube for around 1 week, she seems quite comfortable in there as i put some small wood shavings to help her feel more at home. At the moment I haven't seem any eggs, are the eggs easy to see, or will they be real tiny and almost invisible? the queen is small, around 1cm.

Well, yes and no. Eggs tend to be small (especially for a <1cm queen) but they tend to make lots and clump them together in a little pile. And if you don't disturb the queen, she tends to spend most of her time tending to them. So at first, yes, it might be a bit difficult, but if, for example, there's nothing in your test tube that is white, it might be easier to see, because oneday you might find a little white pile of eggs she's standing over

It took me a week or two to get 'used' to identifying the little pile. My queen rests hers on the cotton so again, it can be difficult to see. If it's yellow, they may be turning into pupae. Except I haven't gotten that far yet so I couldn't say from experience!
Standing over the eggs is a good, though not guaranteed, indicator that they are eggs and she's caring for them. They seem to spend much time doing this.
