I'm brand new to ant keeping and i have a small little bunch of L. Niger, about 15 to 20 workers and several eggs...i think.
I've been feeding them sugar water and dried insects and flakes and dried brine shrimp i bought online. They only seem to like the sugar water to be honest and ignore the dried stuff entirely except for one brine shrimp i placed into their test tube when i was starting to get worried about them not eating.
I've given them little pieces of chicken tonight and now suddenly my boyfriend stepped directly onto the head of a slug :/
Mildly grossed out but i was wondering, if i chopped it up could i feed it to my ants? Or is it harmful to them in any way?

Slugs are slimey ants and slime don't mix, but slugs and composting do!

Maybe if it was cut open. But I saw a documenerty, where army ants came across a slug, and their jaws got stuck in the slime D: Once they got into it, they enjoyed it.I might try giving a colony of mine al cut slug (Sorry dermy )

Not the children! I will give a little to my Lasius Niger, then my Messor Barbarus, then a wild Lasius Niger, and tell you what they do with it
