Hello,
I was just wondering if someone could help me out regarding the storage of (dead) ant specimens.
I know there are 2 ways of keeping ants: 'wet' (in isopropanol) and 'dry' (for 'museum' storage) and I would like to keep some specimens and mount them. My questions are as followed:
1. Has anyone kept ants in alcohol before/currently and if so (regarding people living in the UK) where did you buy it from (I have tried major stores such as Boots but no luck!)?
2. Has anyone tried mounting ants for 'dry' storage and if so where did you get the materials from & do you have any tips on how to do this?
Many thanks,
Sam

I havnt ever kept dead specimens, but I am a member on a mantis forum, and they sometimes preserve their dead mantids, using a piece aof clear arylic, then puting tape around it, too make a open top box sort of thing, they then pour a resin of some sort into it, wait and then they smooth down the sides, I'll find the video
