So I caught 3 queens yesterday. they only site there and lay eggs. Do they need some soil to start laying? I put them in a bottle with air holes in but I don't know If they have mated or not and If they'll lay eggs :/ Should I just order some? my luck sucks and the giant swarm (second one) may not give me luck either as I'll most likely miss it.

If they still have their wings then they are probably not mated. It may take a few days before they lay eggs. It doesn't really matter what you keep them in, as long as they feel safe.

I caught them during a flight when only a few colonies in each area did it. The males came out too, so I'm hoping they mated. They've also shed their wings, I found all 3 of them trying to find a spot to dig along my street. When I see one lay eggs, I'm transfering it to my massive ant farm It's 25x40. I also gave them a drop of honey, They sometimes drink It. I know honey is made from, nectar, which contains water. If they lay eggs, should I wait for workers before I put in any dead insects?

Laying eggs hardly happens overnight give a week then they should lay, try to avoid bugging them at this point patients is a virtue!

You should definitely release them into the ant farm BEFORE they start laying, or at least wait until they have their first workers. Remember to keep a wet cotton ball in the jar.

Well luckily, one of the 3 layed eggs. I transferred them to the ant farm, and carefully gave them the eggs. After lunch at my grandparents I lifted up a stone, and found loads of eggs and 4 larvae. the queens are caring for those, and hopefully they'll start laying overnight again. there were about 10 eggs I could see, and they were tiny! i'm hoping the same queen that layed them decides to lay some in my ant world too! and surprisingly, the 3 queens have no problem with each over. They may be from the same colony ;D

And the honey I gave them helped. Now i'm waiting for workers to hatch in a week or so, before their eggs they layed hatch. the workers that hatch from the booster eggs will help me feed the queens.
