You did a good job producing this, considering it's your second video. I like to make sure that there's no bubble when I push the cotton in. This way, the cotton is pulled into the end of the tube as the water dries up. It might help protect the tube against mold, since the living space of the ants isn't in the same spot through the duration of the life of the setup. It's more likely, though, that there's absolutely nothing to gain from this method. ;D I do have some advice -- and it's a hypocrite's advice too, because I have no semblance of showmanship when I narrate anything. The voice you used in the video sounds artificial. Instead of feeling like a student, I feel like classmate listening to you read your homework. For the most part, there will be only one listener per viewing, so it should sound much less like a presentation and more like a conversation. It's nice to have a script when you aren't an expert on the subject; you know very well what you're talking about, so you should speak as if you're having a one-on-one with a fellow enthusiast! One long recording (bloopers and all) would be preferable to a fragmented and robotic narration. My three favorite ant "YouTubers" so far, MrILoveTheAnts, Antimidation, and AntsCanada all use long recordings and are unashamed by mistakes they might make. It ends up making for a much more engaging listening experience. Mistakes are very human! I know that with a little bit of confidence, you can sound as good as they do. Stop being a perfectionist. A little on the same subject: video is preferable. Photographs also do well; they're better, though, when the breaks between images aren't further emphasized by your voice cutting out. Another point in favor of the long recording, I guess, or at least better placement of segmented clips. Take this advice with a grain of salt. It may sound like I know what I'm talking about, but I despise my showman's voice too much to ever use it. I hope to narrate in my own videos someday, but I kind of have the same problems as you do. ;D

Thank you Batspiderfish for your input.
I wanted to keep the video simple so that newcomers could understand.
I plan on redoing the video tonight.

Limes, is that YOUR bin lid voice we hear? It is, kinda. The computer makes it sound different. I will be making a replacement video 'Using Test Tubes With Ants' they will cover how to make them, put ants in them, and use them well.
