My family and I recently took a vacation to the beach. While we were there one day, I was laying in the sand near the ocean. All of a sudden, I looked down and to my surprise there was a queen ant literally right in front of me. I caught her and took her home and she has been doing great ever since.
The queen looks like a common black ant species and she did not have her wings when I found her. I currently have her in a tiny glad container with a piece of wet cotton. I change the cotton out every couple of days so mold does not grow. She is doing great and she has actually laid around 20-30 eggs in the two weeks that I have had her.
Do you all have any advice for me on how to care for her? Is there anything that I should be doing differently? Also, I put a dab of honey (extremely watered down) on the cotton a couple of times, but I am unsure as to whether or not I should continue to do so. What kind of food should I provide for the queen and the upcoming larvae?
Thank you all in advance! I may try to post some pictures up soon too.

It may be Tetramorium, as it was by the coast, or just Lasius Niger, either way, nice find

Tetramorium impurum/caespitum queens have round and vary shiny abdomens.

If you bring us a photograph, we could probably identify it to the genus.

What to feed her, I would say continue with the sugary stuff for now until the first few workers come then consider small spiders etc!
