messor barbarus, lasius flavus but be warned messor barbarus can get stressed and cannibalize there brood! I have had 2 messor barbarus queens that have done this, then died shortly after I'm going to try with them again this year. This time I will get a queen with workers and see if that helps.

Will fusca panic if I look in the ytong if or put water in?

No. But they panic if there are large vibrations, or you bang the container. You can be colonies of varius german ant shops.

Not much difference at all tbh... Fucha are hairier lol. I have kept them for a few years now and are my fave species

Carpenter ants are larger, but as far as i can tell breed slowly compared to fusca. Fusca colonies dont have large workers called majors.
