Hi The American ant keeping community has discovered that miticides (insecticides targeting mites) are often added in honey, which is potentially dangerous to ants. Unfortunately bee keepers are not required to list miticides in the honey, so it's hard to tell if your honey has it or not.
Personally, I haven't had any problems with honey but beware of this.

I don't think it's added to the honey, per se, but a residue from treatments applied to the bees. Natural honey is in no danger from mites.
