Hi guys. I have just made a new formicarium! I'm pretty sure it's the first of it's kind, too. The pictures are rather self explanatory. If you have any questions feel free to ask. The sand hasn't been moistened. I will do so tomorrow. I left two areas in the nesting area free of sand so the ants have an enclosed area to gather if necessary. The plastic you see glued here is in between the plaster in order to prevent the plaster from taking all of the moisture. I don't know if this will work well or not. Time will tell.

Woah, I like that! are you going to consider selling other like that? Well, the thought never occurred to me that someone would want one, but if I perfect my manufacturing process I suppose I could.

How did you make it? I used Plaster of Paris with activated charcoal and acrylic paint for coloring. I sifted sand onto it. I popped the wall out after 3 hours, removed the clay and plexi, cleaned, attached the plexi, and slide it back in. I will likely be keeping Formica fusca in this formicarium. What do you guys think I should put in? Formica fusca, Formica subsericea, Lasius neoniger (lone queen without workers, not very promising), or Tetramorium Sp. E?
