:)I am looking to buy this species from "ants kalytta", now there are 2 colonies for sale. I don't know which colony to get, but I think it will be the larger. As there is only a very small price difference for such a large amount of ants, and their colonies grow slowly.
What do you guys think I should keep them in? (I think a basin littered with wood and stone ;D).
Please vote in the poll above.

I would say ytong myself as that's what I kept this species in before and they thrived.

I'm not too sure about the housing, but if you can make/purchase/have a good ytong nest, go for it.

I guess in ytong there would be no-tunnel collapses.

Could you try to drill a hole into it somewhere? And make a connection?

I guess, but it wouldbe had to make it escape proff, and it's just a bit strangethat they do that.

To make it escape proof you could drill diagonally and if you can find a tube that fits, silicone the tube on and fill it with cotton wool. If you can't find a tube that fits, I don't see much point in drilling the hole. If you can add the tube, it would also make introducing the ants easier? I would prefer making my own though, much like tetra.

To be honest I think I will stick with the basin... They take up less space. And I don't think tunnels will collapse, as they are probly quite big. It is more natural.
