I voted for Tetramorium impurum. I had a colony of these for a number of years and they are vary interesting ants, and are easy to keep.

Well Jon, I have had experience with Lasius Flavus, Formica Fusca, Lasius Niger and Formica lemani....Of course Rubra's too.
I voted myself for camponotus Ligniperdus, due to the interest in majors and minors etc.

I hear that camponatus colonies take ages to grow, and tetramorium caeptisium is native to England.

Okay, I really am Leaning towards Camponotus, But I have wondered what is better Herculeanus or Ligniperdus?
