Haha! Pooter is definitely a new word for me, but I've made a few of them on my own, and they are very simple and useful. I like to use a clear Tupperware cup (with a screw-on lid, preferably), a couple nylon hoses (like what is used in aquariums, but a little wider than those air hoses), and a fine piece of cloth. Simply drill two holes into the plastic lid (or scrape them out), making sure that they don't become too large for the hose or straw you plan on using. You can fasten the cloth to the end of one hose with elastics or with glue, or if one of your holes turns out to be too wide, you might be able to use the thickness of the cloth to create a tight fit. Only one tube should be clothed, and this is the one you inhale through.

No problem! Aspirators/pooters ;D are one of an ant-keeper's best friends. In America, pooter is slang for somebody's "butt".

Be careful. I once tried using a pooter to collect Formicine ants. Trust me, formic acid does NOT taste good! I later read somewhere that inhaling it can cause a painful lung condition!

Yeah i also made this mistake when I was younger, I tried to suck up an entire colony thinking this was how you got a colony of ants.
Suffered for a week or two, even after i figured i could just hook the thing up to a hoover. (note don't do this as I found out its almost impossible to get the queen this way. i just had just a few thousand annoyed ants)
but yeah great tool for a few bugs etc.
