I believe that the correct spelling in this context would be "very". "Vary" is defined as "change from one condition, form, or state to another". That is, unless it is a European spelling that I am not familiar with. Anyway, that is a very interesting concept. I still don't fully understand the caste system of ants, despite years of reading about it.

Hehe.... Myrm has a language of his own. As strange as it may seem, he uses words like 'vAry' and 'Bin Lid'. He is fully aware of the correct spelling.
I don't quite understand how the eggs/larvae are chosen to become majors/media/minors/soldiers.

What makes an egg produce a worker, soldier or new queen is based on the quantity of the food they receive as larvae. I believe the queen influences the worker's input into the care of the larvae and what they finally produce by way of pheromones.

What I dont understand if that is the idea IF you feed a lasius niger colony loads of food they MAY be able to produce soldiers if they felt a need to?

Talk about big headed! well at least the ants are beating us at another aspect of technology.When will we have supersoilders (hopefully ours wont be such a big sniper target like thiers) lucky for that ant insects cant use huge rifles (yet) oh how i love typing long paragraphs for no reason
