That looks preatty bad, especially if they breed in your habitat. Is there away you could move them to a different tank, and then kill the mites? Are the mites only in the foraging area or the nest as well?

Nest area, None in the foraging, the only ones I have seen Are on the surface of the nest area eating mealworms which I disposed of. So....I will track how they get on and stab every mite I see...

Oh, I seem to remember reading 1 of Myrms old journals, where the tank was infested with mites o he left the lid off so they crawled out.... Am I right Myrm? Well remembered Jon Bin Lid. My Tetramorium impurums had a terrible proplem with mite and they invested the tank. I believed this was due to the warm and humid conditions in the tank and so I removed the lid and kept it off. The environment dried and the mites disappeared. (Exalt to JBL for remembering this piece of information I would like to add that ants are prone to mites and a lot of the time they do not seem to bother the ants, but if you can get rid of them then do so.
