Hey everyone,
I am ready to transfer my Lasius Flavus to there proper set up and all I need to do is fill the set up with soil. The problem I have is what sort should I use?
Would I be able to use garden soil and just siv it fine and mix it with some play sand? Or should I buy some already made off the internet?
Thank you for any help

Cool thank you. Thats what I thought. Should I mix some sand in with it?
Do 80% soil and 20% sand?
Also do I put some small stones at the bottom of the farm? I ask because I have just seen some comments about people doing it?
I really do appreciate the help and I do promise I will so some reading up and lean some stuff myself. Just had a new baby so time is a bit stretched at the moment.
Once again thank you

The ratio to sand and soil that you said is fine. It is more common to go 1/3 sand and 2/3 soil.

Brilliant thank you for that. Just what I was looking for. Thank you. I hope so. I am going to introduce him to ant keeping when he is old enough and hopefully he will like. Thank you for the help :-)
