My colony of Myrmica Rubra is relatively small at the moment but appears to be growing. I gave them a couple of good sized maggots the other day, which they quickly swarmed, killed and dragged off. I havent seen head nor tail of them for a few days since? Only the odd ant coming to the surface? Am I panicking without cause? Are they just staying under becasue they have enough food to eat? Are they hibernating?

I am sure there is no need to panic. If they have eaten well then they may not necessarily send foragers out; it's just a waste of energy and resources if they do.

they may aslso just sit motionless. this is just because their is nothing to do and do not want to waste energy.
