We have had an invasion of ants at work and they are not being tolerated by the partners. The nest is likely doomed as if they keep coming in (there are far too many ways in to stop them, this is an old building) sooner or later an exterminator will get called. I'm wondering if I can pull the queen out before that happens, is there some sort of ant call I can use to get her to come out? Or some way to make her want to leave so I can grab her? The nest will be under a building I'd guess, so digging down to her is out of the question. Seems a shame if she dies

No. I don't think you'll be able to get to her :-(

I'll keep doing what I'm already doing then, keeping an eye out in case she makes a run for it as her workers die around her.
I have put the word out that if anyone sees an oversized ant wandering around they are to let me know, and woe betide anyone who kills her!

Good idea! If they kill her let me know and I will arrest them!

And THAT'S the scientific name for the Nee Naws >.< If they use poison it may be that the Queen will die as workers feed the poison to her. Also, a queen without workers or brood after having a colony may die of stress. Good luck though.

I went out just now to see if I could spot any ant. There are 'ant traps' out there, the kind where they take it to the nest and all die Worse yet, no ants

could try blowing smoke into the nest using a pipe which may force them to surface.
