So, I found a Camponotus vicinus queen a couple days ago. She is an inch long, and will get bee sized majors. They nest mainly in the ground. Under stones, and in sandy areas. I've never kept Camponotus though...so if my queen makes it to worker stage, what do you guys find is good food for Camponotus?
The species I have get colonies of up to 100,000 ants...a large sized species with huge nests. It will be really cool. I'm hoping she doesn't die, as I would love to start a colony of them.
