Well they eat aphid honeydew and its not that frequent in this colony, from what you said would they not care if its bee's honey. If not I really don't want to get the colony wet because I did then had to transfer the colony to another farm. it was tedious because I had to individually sift through the dirt and pick up each ant and relocate it. Took me about 3 hours to do so. Edited by Thomas & MilesBL, watch your I's and again a few spellings - Mar 20, 2011, 8:22pm [/size]

BTW I keep the lid off because I think they are to disorganized at the moment to escape. Does the sun harm them in anyway because if it does I'm screwed. Also the soil is to loose for their digging anyway to fix that without creating dampness because it wouldn't help to get it damp because most would drown, that's how I lost 50 of them.*The way I lost the fifty was loose soil collapsing tunnels, drowning and chamber because levels were to high because the exits would not stay open because of the soil*
Edited by Thomas & MilesBL, please Capitalise your I's and watch a few spellings, as well as apostrophes. -Mar 20, 2011, 8:19pm

Use a spray bottle with a mister setting, that way you damped soil without making it sodden.
As for sunlight, they don't like it generally, but it shouldn't do them any harm.
