Would you consider the way the queen enters the nest and replaces the queen etc. as espionage?

Trickery yes, espionage no. Espionage is a way of secretly gaining information over a period of time, which doesn't define what the ants do, they simply trick a colony.

Yea, I chose espionage for the lack of another word. I was just struggling to think of another decent word for my project. Maybe I could call it deception?

Would you consider the way the queen enters the nest and replaces the queen etc. as espionage? No. Espionage is the infiltration of another in order to gain information for the gain of another. In the case of Umbratus it's more a case of parasitism than espionage.
