Hey I'm new to this forum and I have been keeping ants a long time. I have mainly been keeping native species because I never have any luck with non native ones.
Well, one species I can't keep are camponotus ligniperda, I have tried once but the workers died. I am going to buy more workers next time but I was wondering, what would be the the best way of keeping them e.g set up, food, decor and things like that.
When I get my next colony of campontus ligniperda I will be keeping a diary of them.
Thanks for your help

Camponotus ligniperda are apparently good in Y-Tong or pumice nests. They need heating, (antstore sells heatmats) and brood development is generally slow. I don't know anything else so sorry

Yeah I am thinking of getting a y-tong nest from antstore, and I have a heat mat as well.
Thanks
