Thats nearly a year the queen has been in test tube still no sign of her moving think she is going for record?

Yes, that does sound like a record. When you say "not moving", do you mean she has not attempted to move out of the tube, or she hasn't move a single muscle in that year?

Sorry should have said she is fine colony is getting bigger and one or two off the ants out foraging most days the queen not making any attempt to come out of test tube and never goes near the edge.

Surprising, because mine, which I've only had for 6 weeks made it clear they wanted out of the test tube. This involved workers constantly pushing against the tube. I linked the farm up and it took them two days to totally relocate.

Colonies of L. niger size ants can live quite comfortably in test tubes up to about 50-100 workers I think, but some will prefer soil or sand.

Additionally, they've excavated their main chamber against the side of the farm, meaning I can see they queen and the eggs, which is good for me!
