What is the best way to make sugar water and the best way to give the ants it? is it simply water with a tiny amount of sugar and then sock a cotton ball in it? I sound so simple asking this but I'd rather know if I was giving them too much sugar

Hi Jay. I usually experiment with the ratio of sugar to water, but there are many different views. Personally, if I make it, which is vary rarely, I get a mug of warm water and dissolve a tablespoon of sugar in it. I then taste the water and see how sweet it is. I usually have it so it is pleasantly sweet to taste but not over-powerful. Why not try honey in water instead of sugar? If your ants show no interest then make some more with two tablespoons of sugar and try that.
