I've got the L.Nigers settled now, although hopefully they'll move away from the feed chamber soon :\ What triggers the season to get eggy? I have a thermometer next to them for reference, I thought it would be awesome to get some real data if it was a temperature thing. They are kept in the temperate climes of my lounge at the moment though :\ I just want some eggs, and hope they come soon What's a sure and safe food for now too? I'm not sure that they're eating anything. Edit: To elaborate on the food bit: I want to feed them protein for the egg season, but something they're comfortable eating. A dead insect maybe?

Factors that trigger egg production:
- Warmth -Ample food supply -Bit of moisture - Time of year
They may not have layed yet as in the wild they normally wouldnt be out of hibernation yet.
Since the days are getting longer and there is more sun = Warmth. Try to place a heat mat nearby in the morning and take it off after 2 hours or so, then everyday leave the heat mat for a bit more and so on.
Also try to offer as many foods as possible ( Ant jelly, mealworms, flies.... ) so that the workers can alert the queen that there is food available.
Thanks,
