Hi all I'm new to the forums, so please correct me if I break any rules or protocols . I have quite a few colonies of Lasius niger which are growing nicely. I am after obtaining a colony or two of Monomorium pharaonis , the Pharoah's ant (see Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharaoh_ant. Does anybody know where I could get some of these? I live in London, UK, and need them for a research project looking at ant trails. I realise you're not allowed to advertise sites on here, so if there are any links, you can PM me at ant@olliepalmer.com. Thanks in advance! Ollie

Hi Ollie
Welcome to the forum, it is nice to have you with us.
Advertising sites is not disallowed on this site. The rules for that were changed a while ago. If you have seen somewhere on this forum that says otherwise please let me or any of the Soldier Ants know. The main rule for any advertised links is that they must be suitable for our larvae to view (the larvae are our bin lid (kid) members and I am fiercely protective of them). Any links placed on here are checked out by our Soldier Ants and removed if deemed not appropriate.
I hope you enjoy your time with us.

Hello ollie and welcome to the forum.
I apoligize in advance for answering a question with a questions.
1. Are you looking to obtain these ants by buying or capturing from the wild?
2. What size of a colony are you looking for?
3. Do you already have a set-up made or in-mind?
4. Have you had any expierance with keeping Monomorium pharaonis?
