I voted Soldier as I find them amazing how they work together.
I was just down in Florida and was watching a group of Harvester ant Majors defend their nest entrance from a group of marauding Fire Ants. The Majors have very large heads and form a circle around the entrance and slowly push back the Fire Ants while walking slowly side by side. Even though they are outnumbered 3 to 1 they still defeat the Fire Ants.

I voted Workers as its fascinating how they forage for food and when a source of food is detected they follow their pheromone trail and alert the others about it.
P.S Flavus there was a youtube video showing the behaviour which you described above.
