Being a male (King) Termite is better. You are waited on hand and foot and your only job is to...errrr..... "service" the queen on a regular basis. Unlike male ants you don't die afterwards. If the King was too die, would the queen be able to lay another, or would that not work due to... uhm... incest?

I would suspect that perhaps another male would take his place from the area.
Isoptera are interesting things. Not as influential as Hymenoptera.

All insect castes play a role in the life of a colony. Without either one the colony would struggle and willl more likely to fail.

Do you always come out with the "hmmm yes" statement? ;D The best Caste is the toilet cleaners but that wasn't an option for some reason

I think queens are cooler - they have all the power They don't really, the queens are basically POWs, they lay eggs and get workers and the workers make a nest. People think the queen chooses where the workers are going to dig but the workers do. The queen is just seen as a bag of eggs I'm afraid Placed on MANF Twitter and FaceBook pages by Myrmerm...true,true... but I meant it in a way-like-she is the mother of all, and she is the creator of all-the only element in the nest that has the privilege to reproduce the worker ants lack that ability-and without the queen...well-like a country without a government- it works and functions and maybe even grows-but-it is meant to fall a part...
