Well over the last couple of days I had noticed a few dead ants, and thought it was nothing to worry about. However today I checked them and everyone was dead even the queen I had them since September 2010. They were Lasius Niger. I guess I will try again with Rubra in spring next year. Tweeted by Myrm

I am very sorry kipita. One of my C. Modoc queens is on the verge of death. I can no longer watch over her right now, but I left her with a wet paper towel. I hope she makes it. She has had problems since the begining, such as eating all of her brood. If she survives winter she-ll probably make it. Anyways (I kinda spammed the subject) I hope you do get some Rubras. I suggest getting multiple queens... (kinda guarantees survival if you have enough, as if one dies, you still have two others or something like that.)

Thats such a shame Kipita. I am sure you will have better luck with you next colony.
