Hello,
Well I have just found out something really interesting by watching my queens.
My observation is:
If the queen in the test tube has a small space (lets say 2 - 3 times longer than herself) she woul lay eggs in a period of 2 weeks.
If the queen in the test tube had much more space(lets say 6 - 7 times longer than herself) she would lay eggs in a period of 4 - 6 weeks.
Conclusion:
If the queen has a smaller space she will lay eggs much quicker as I think she feels more comfotable in a small space than a bigger space, thus if the queen is comfortabale she will lay eggs.
Also by reading some posts of other forums, when they showed pictures of the test tube setups the queens with a smaller space would lay eggs much quicker than the ones who had a much bigger space.
And all queens had the same temperature conditions and were covered with tin foil.

Very interesting, I know that Tetramorium queens do like less space. Exalt.

Is it the same rules if the queen has a few workers?
