Hi, I have a question in regarding two Lasius queens that I have in test tubes. I was wondering if I should try to add heat to the tubes so they may consider egg laying or if I should wait until spring and let nature take its course

Hello,
If you want your queens to lay, extra heating is not necessary. By keeping them dark and warm in for example: Your airing cupboard. they should lay eggs within 2 - 3 weeks.
If you hibernate them, in spring they will have an explosion of egg laying, so its up to you.

How could i heat there space? There is no requirement to. They are not tropical ants. Just let them be at room temperature.

Ok thank you guys, I'm just hoping that they'll make it. I haven't had the best of luck with raising them.
