I am going to be going around and checking out the all the known Tetramorium colonies in my backyard. I have found several large nests and one of them had several alates and at least a hundred males. I think that they will be flying somewhere in the middle of the month. I may also take an alate larvae to feed to me new Acrobat Ant Colony. I know it sounds cruel but I don't think the colony will miss it to much. I hope not atleast. Flavus

That sounds Awesome, You must be really looking forward to the flight! Today I discovered that the Myrmica Rubra colony living in my chicken run (not really the best place to live) has been decimated because my parents decided that it would be a good idea to feed the chickens all the bug under the paving slabs! I was looking forward to collecting a queen from that colony but as it is now I doubt that will happen .

I am quite interested as I have always wanted a Tetramorium colony. I am not sure whether I will collect a queen or not. I am still dissapointed about my other colony escaping. I am very sorry about the Rubra colony. I am sure there are others around your place though. Keep looking. Flavus

Well after a couple days of looking it appears that there are only about 20 in each nest that I looked. Around 50 for the large nest out front. Not nearly enough for flights to start. I will do another check in a week or two. Flavus
