KK, I just got some of that PTFE stuff, or however it's called >.<, and I have never used it before. I have painted some onto the side of some glass but it doesn't look right. It's got lots of lumps in it and it remains as a thick chalky-like band. I thought this stuff was supposed to dry clear?
Can somebody who has used this stuff before tell me if they experienced the same with their PTFE.
Thanks.

No it doesn't dry clear. I've used it before and it didn't work for long. So I used Vaseline and that works a treat ;D

i agree with Antboy888, polytetrafluroethylene (scientific name) does not dry clear in my experience either.

Just quickly, how often do you have to re-apply vaseline for escape prevention? I've never had the guts to try such a method before!

I normally replace my Vaseline when I feel it necessary but this is not often. Its just when the ant start coming out.

I normally just cover whatever is open with a tissue (or a series of tissue-thin substances to allow air flow) and ensure there's no way to escape. I tried vasoline the other day but all the Camponotus I caught ran out of it!! So I used hand-soap and it seemed to work better- a bit more dangerous for them I think but it did the trick temporarily while I fixed up the leak.
