Here in my carpenter ant colony. The queen, her 6 workers and all her eggs remain in the test tube, but they are starting to explore. The set up is 20x10x10cm, with half full of sand/dirt mix, the cork bark is about 10x8x2cm, and they have a smaller cricket tub as a dump/forage area with honey and water. I'm wondering if there is a better way to house them. Any ideas?? Attachments:

Nice set up. Just a bit of advice about the picture; it's quite large and may not display well on all screens. If you reduce the size by half it would fit on screens a lot better and look better quality too.

Yeah this looks okay for now. They might dig away from the glass and you will be unable to see them.

Yeah that's prob true. But then I worried if I got ytong and the queen was continually exposed she'd get stressed.

Sometimes seeing the queen doesn't matter. aslong as you get to see what they get up to, I'ts entertaining enough!
