Just over a year ago I got a small kritter keeper put some soil and grass seeds in and when the grass had grown put some crickets in which died But today I was going to empty it and use it fot the lasius flavus queen but I saw a lasius flavus ant worker. I have never thought there were ants in there so they have never been fed and yet they have suvived over a year. I am sooooooooooooooooooooo (ect) happy. PS> I think it lasius flavus cos it was small and yellow. ;D ;D ;D

I didn't think it was working because there was a dead queen on the top so I emptied the soil into my garden. I think the queen may have come from the bag of compost because it was open for a while

The ants probably ate your crickets. But without food for that long, the queen died. Interesting find though!
