Hello, Ive been looking into keeping a nest for a few weeks and Ive got a delivery of a Lasius Niger Queen coming within the next few days. I was planning on making a ytong farm this weekend, but when I went into B+Q today and asked for "Ytong / aerated concrete" they looked at me like I was stupid because they had never heard of it. I also went into Homebase and they did not store anything like it. So what is ytong and where do you get it? Ive looked around the internet and come up with several alternate names for it which is adding to my confusion AAC (Autoclaved aerated concrete) Ytong Aerated Concrete Thermalite Breeze Block Are these all different types of products? :/ Ytong eludes me! Seek your help please EDIT - I phoned Wickes they too have never heard of ytong but sell this www.wickes.co.uk/aerated-blocks/invt/213632/Is this of the same density/weight and type as ytong? :/

B&Q do sell it as aerated concrete as that's where I got mine from, it's better if you can get as white a block as possible though and the B&Q are quite dark grey, not too much of a problem but next time I will go the extra mile to get white! It's NOT breeze block either, I have seen someone try to use that and it didn't work
