Dear All, the test tube where my ants live in is dry and mouldy since a couple of weeks, but my ants prefer to stay there instead of moving to the clean, new one that I put in the same basin. They dug a tunnel through the dry cotton plug and moved everything (eggs, larvae, etc.) to the "closed" side of the test tube...
Isn't it a bit strange?! The cotton wool is completely mouldy, pink, black and "velvety"!
I wouldn't like to have my ants killed by the mould!
What should I do?
Thanks!
bye

Hi If I were you I'd leave the ants where they are. They have a choice between that one and the clean one but appear to prefer the dirtier one. If the brood seem to be unaffected then I say leave them where they are.

Well, it seems consistent: just leave the nature work as it has to be! thanks, bye!
