Boiled egg yolk. Be careful. Ants love it but if they take it underground it goes very very mouldy very quickly and it will block tunnels with hairs. You could try raw egg yolk on a cotton wool ball.

Sometimes my ants will accept fish food flakes, these are about 40% protein and the rest is minerals and antioxidants. I still prefer to feed them insects though.

Besides the winter cricket colony I have - I feed my ants - what I call "Christmas special protein mix" ;D It's 5 to 2 to 3 parts of water/honey/raw egg, if you shake it up and leave it in the fridge - it can last like - maybe a bit more than a week... Side effects - if you put too much of this cocktail into the nest - the nest is going to REALLY STINK! ;D and you have to make it in small doses so that it doesn't go bad too fast ( I have a medical syringe 5ml, and that lasts a week - but by the time ant's empty it, the problem? well - you'll have to eat the rest of the egg ) Good thing - the ant's love it and it grants them ALOT of energy to run on + as a bonus you get a protein charge

Just to add, you can always add some soaked gelatin to the milk or yoghurt and it will become solid so no chance of them getting stuck in it or drowned.
It is like those ant jellies you can buy, but cheaper.
