Well don't feed them poison. I would say just nothing mouldy or that could kill them. (If it is alive) If you see any dead ants stop feeding that kind of food. For the most part they know what part of the insect to eat and what part not to eat.

ok well i will feed them on what we know they do eat and see how they get on with the cricket food at a later date, i was talking to the rep of the company that makes the stuff and he could not really say, he could not see why not and said it should not harm them but thats not what it was made for and would like to know what happens.

Yes I agree with you that it is better to be sure. I know this is a little mean but if you are still not sure and really want to try the food. Then in the spring you could try feeding a small group of wild workers. Up to you though.

well believe it or not there is an ants nest in the soil bin in the garden that hasn't been disturbed for about 4 years so my land lady has said, so i could put a bit in their in the spring i will post my results then.

youve all forgot maggots tey like maggots =} and if they dont eat em then they turn into fly's then they'l eat them.

Hello,
I got this info a long time ago and left some things on the floor ( grass my garden) and 20 mins later ants were all over it they were lasisu niger:
Mosquitos shredded pork papaya pineapple Cookies Cockroach
