With a Myrmica species I wouldn't give any live food to a colony of 50.

hey myrmica can sting remember so go ahead a colony of 50 equipped with formic acid and large jaws.Besides I have rubra's with a colony of 100 and I feed my like spiders wasps bee's (sometimes because they're cool) and I have no probs so I say go ahead .

Yes, I have Myrmica too, and they do have stings, but the stingers are so small that they probably won't go pats the wasp's exoskeleton. Wasps have large stings and big jaws, so could kill a fair number of ants. This would be a major setback to a small colony of 50. The ants would never kill it, either. It would live off their sugar water, and kill ants every now and then. My Myrmica colony can't kill even a fly.

Why not lightly crush the wasp to give them a head-start? :-)
