I was playing around with ways to reverse a lens over an "old" video camera I have in my possession, and with a couple of rubber bands, I was amazed to discover what I can do with such a basic camera. This has really influenced me to step up and buy something nicer, but no need to get something too nice! Now I need to figure out how to light an ant nest properly. Any attempts at diffusion made for a terribly dark video. Something along the lines of a fiber-optic cable would be very convenient for getting the light where it needs to go, but it takes quite a lot of consistent, strong illumination to be manipulatable and usable at all. Heh heh... Swedish Rhapsody.

That is ridiculously amazing if it really is an old camera. Exalt+1 from me. I must say that I am really impressed with that colony. They seem very well fed and have excellent looking larvae and cocoons. I think I saw a couple callow workers in there to? Flavus

Exalt from me too! That's awesome! I love how the larvae moved around asking for food!
I am also really impressed! Gosh I hope my Lasius take off in the spring!

WOW that was amazing!! what sort of ant farm are they in? Aphaenogaster, Formica (red queen), and Lasius are in artificial pumice nests, Formica (dark queen) is in a plaster setup.
