;D
Finally I found a proper Myrmica colony in my garden, a line of workers stretched about 1m across the round. Sadly however they are right next to a lasius niger colony. Also I saw an ant which looked like lasius niger, but seemed to have a well developed sting... Any idea's?

Where are the Myrmica living is it under a stone or log? maybe the stinging ant may have been a very old myrmica.r because i think they get darker as they age. have you seen the stinger it could just be a hair

Hmm maybe, its antena also looked more like those of a wasp not an ant. And they were living in the ground/soil.

If I may ask, what do you mean by well-developed sting?

Well bascicaly a sting which sticks out quite far, and it was noticable, (I was trying to be fancy), both things which you do not usualy see in Lasius Niger....
