well i was at high school today and after school i went to my usual club with my friend when at the gate i saw a massive colony of lusius niger and then we went down to the chicken pen and found more lusius nigers i went to the teacher and said there are lots of ants about she said that the ants were starting to nest in class rooms so i went to litracy blok and found amongst the plants a thriving lusius niger colony so tommorow i will go and capture some workers

Cool. Lasius niger often nest in large flower pots in the garden.

ye but i dont mind they call me the ant man i like the name That is good then. It was the same when I was a bin lid; all my friends knew I liked ants and they used to help me feed a wood ant nest we had by our school.

myrm i need advice i have accerdently put lucius niger with mymica rubra what should i do should i put more ants of 1 of the species in or do i leave them to settle it out ?

29 lusius niger 17 mymica rubra. 12 mymicas died af old age. lusius niger seem to stick there tails into mymicas do mymicas spit or have sting

You need to separate them if you can. If you can't then you may as well let them get on with it.
Myrmica sting.
Lasius niger use formic acid; they apply it directly by bringing their abdomen round and attacking their prey/enemies with it.

well should i supply 1 ant species with more because there evenly matched even if there are only 17 mymicas
