Hi, this will be a summary until I get home. We went out on his backyard and flipped over a log, where approximately 200-300 workers, 6 queens, and hundreds of eggs. We did our best to collect them and we got 90-100 workers, 4 queens, and about 50-60 eggs. There are a few larvae too. I will be moving them into my Tree Stumps nest from AntHills.net.

Why A Sad face? This is really good for miles, having an Apheanogaster colony would be great!
Ants always do It poortea, especially in Polygynous specie such as Myrmicine Because queens like to keep in touch with the rest of the colony, Lasius Niger however are usually deep nesters.

If you mean M.Rubra workers against queens they are similar, you can spot one rather easily if you know what to look for.
Say the workers are about 5-6mm the queens are 7-8mm and wider, generally deeper colours.
