It's one of the groups of species of ant, Jon. Myrmicine include Pheidole and Myrmica. They are distinguishable by their double petiole (two tiny nodes that attach the abdomen to the thorax). Stings are a Myrmicine trait too (though not restricted to just Myrmicine).

Just like how Lasius and Formica are Formicine. Formicine ants normally use formic acid while Myrmicine ants usually sting.
