Saturday, 23 May 2009The ants have separated the brood into 4 distinct piles of eggs and larvae, with 5 cocoons placed at the far end of the nesting box (still on the surface) which 4 or 5 workers constantly guard. The queen is still looking very plump! (must be the Fraggs broth I fed them )

she can't, I just fed it to my lizard; she eats anything! Have you tried your ants on myrm smoothie?

Just gave this colony a massive house-fly that flew in. They have gone mad for it, which gets more thinking; sometimes I put in a piece of food and although they eat it, they do not get real excited over it. 10 minutes later I put a fly in and they swarm over it. I wonder if ants attract more ants to a food find if they act more excited over it.
