Myrm what are your ant plans? Well, Dermy, because I spend so much time away from home I have no immediate ant plans other than to try and keep my current L. umbratus colony going despite the fact I only see them for a few weeks each year for the next 2 years. After that I should be home for good and have much more time to dedicate to raising a massive colony of L niger and Myrmica. I might even see if I can find some dermys to raise.

In spring/nuptial flight I will have 10 test tubes set up ready to get some new queens from my garden , I have multiple Lasius Niger colony's and my neighbours across the road have some red ants colony's(I forgot their proper nameD:) and they sai I can look around their garden for any ants when the time comes if I get ten queens, I will probably give a few to any people who want a queen. I only intend to keep a maximum of 3 ant farms at one time, as j would rather have 3 sucseful colonys rather then lots of small colony's. Bu I will only do this if my Lasius Nigers do well

Myrmica Rubra/ red ants, have multiple queened colonies, so I reckon that you should have 2 or 3 queens per tube.
