O.o I think I saw a video on youtube where a male was . . . trying to do . . . things with workers, the worker was going mental. (male) I WUV YOU! (worker) get off! (male) sowwy. . . (finds another worker) I WUV YOU! XD No, LaSiUs BiN lId, she was just giving the male a piggy back ride because he was vary tired from walking around the nest. ;D

Would it be possible for a male to impregnate a worker and the worker lay fertile eggs?

No, workers are infertile.
It would be like a goldfish mating with a giraffe. It could work but nothing would happen.

I somehow doubt a goldfish mating with a giraffe could work. In some cases, you are wrong. In a few species, mated workers (called gamergates) can lay viable eggs. In these species, many colonies don't have queens, in fact one type never has queens!

I know, there are also species where the workers lay hundreads of infertile eggs, then if the queen dies the workers fight over power, and the winner becomes queen. Only 1 queen though.
