Wow, I never knew that Queens will lay eggs together and then Fight until on comes out dominant. It would probaly be logical in like building a chamber and protecting the eggs from Predators.

Why will some ant species only tolerate one queen?

Well I think this is a good way to start up a colony as long as 1 queen survives

The Dominance of one Queen in a Colony is linked back to Survival of the Fittest. The idea of the Colony lasting longer with one Queen is very important in some Species of Ant. There is less Disagreement and an unlikely chance of the group or colony being broken up. Ultimately weakening a Colony. So having one Queen as a Dominant makes life more efficient reduces the risk of Issues and also improves the survival of the Colony.
